How this blog works
January 26, 2007My website Digital Otaku showcases some of my work and my writing style but this blog will display what I am currently working on in detail.
As previously mentioned, at present I am a part time student working to complete a diploma in proofreading, editing and publishing this year. I have made steady progress and it looks like my skills in editing and proofreading are slowly improving.
As of December last year, I left my full time job to pursue a writing career. I was previously employed as a successful manager in an industry I no longer had the passion to be part of. I decided it was more important to be less financially secure and happy than to be miserable and rolling in money. I see this as a small price to pay to pursue a dream, my dream.
This blog will be dedicated to the work I do, the craft I hope to master and the industries I love. Please feel free to browse my work and comment as you see fit. If you would like to contact me, my email address is xenith@ihug.co.nz and I will answer any questions you may have. Better still, if you’re looking for a freelance writer or game reviewer, I am your (wo)man
Thank-you for visiting my blog.
Enjoy.

An introduction of sorts…
January 26, 2007This blog was created for the sole purpose of acquiring a job. I decided that the only way to acquire a writing job was to successfully attempt to market my skills, abilities and experience. Whilst this may not be an entirely unique idea, it was until yesterday, only an idea. I decided to do this after reading an inspiring story about an artist over at deviantart.com named ‘spacecoyote‘. What happened to her is really the kind of experience dreams are made of. So, I figured that if I want to really take myself seriously and pursue my career as a serious writer, I need to get my work out in the world so people know that this is my dream and I intend on pouring my heart and soul into pursuing it.
Each entry made in this blog will relate to writing or the literary field in some way or another. For the most part, this blog will serve as an online catalogue of my work (both commissioned and non-commissioned) and will also advertise to prospective clients information on how to contact me and what my areas of expertise are.
